Compound
1 ml of solution contains 100 mg of povidone-iodine;

Indications
     Treatment and prevention of wound infections in surgery, traumatology, combustiology, dentistry
     Treatment of bacterial, fungal and viral skin infections, prevention of superinfection in dermatological practice
     Treatment of bedsores, trophic ulcers, diabetic foot
     Disinfection of the skin and mucous membranes of patients in preparation for surgical interventions, invasive studies (punctures, biopsies, injections, etc.)
     Disinfection of skin around drainages, catheters, probes
     Disinfection of the oral cavity during dental operations
     Disinfection of the birth canal; when performing “minor” gynecological operations (artificial termination of pregnancy, insertion of an intrauterine device (IUD), coagulation of erosion and polyp, etc.)

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
It is not recommended to use from 3 months of pregnancy and during lactation.
If therapy is necessary, the doctor decides on prescribing the drug individually.
It is necessary to monitor thyroid function in newborns and infants whose mothers used Betadine.

Contraindications
     Hypersensitivity to iodine and other components of the drug;
     dysfunction of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) (see section “Special instructions”);
     thyroid adenoma
     Dühring's dermatitis herpetiformis;
     simultaneous use of radioactive iodine;
     premature and newborn babies (see section “Special instructions”)
With caution: pregnancy and lactation, chronic renal failure
The use of Betadine is not recommended from the 3rd month of pregnancy and during lactation. If necessary, in these cases, treatment is possible under individual medical supervision.

Side effects
With frequent use over a large area of the wound surface and mucous membranes, systemic reabsorption of iodine may occur, which may affect tests of the functional activity of the thyroid gland.
Hypersensitivity reactions to the drug, possibly an allergic reaction (hyperemia, burning, itching, swelling, pain), which requires discontinuation of the drug.

Storage conditions
The solution for external use should be stored in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

3 years.
